Winter Greetings to All! It is time for Winterfest 2010, February 13th!
The Carthage Area Chamber has been working on the details of the Winterfest in hopes of creating new and exciting events for the big day. Once again this year we will be anticipating the very popular cardboard race, snowmobile rides, reptile show, magic show and balloon artist and all the other exciting activities we have had in the past. There will be a Precious Pet Contest again this year for anyone who would like to submit their adorable pet’s picture.
Everyone attending Winterfest can participate in the voting and the winners will be announced that day! There will also be our delicious “Souper Soup” contest and a bake sale that will benefit the Food Pantry held by Hunt Realty. Returning this year will be the Fruit Cake Toss, so save those stale Christmas Fruitcakes and bring them to Winterfest 2010. New this year will be Wax-On-Snow, a time-honored, delightfully sticky maple syrup treat made right before your eyes by the American Maple Museum. And Instant Imprints will be bringing their T-shirt Cannon!
Many area businesses have donated prizes for the raffles that are held all day, and winners need not be present to win. Raffle tickets may be purchased through the Carthage Area Chamber, or during the Winterfest. Prizes include an Uncle Sam’s Boat Tour for two, Car Wash and Detailing gift certificates from Caskinette Lofink, and local business gift certificates and prizes. Thanks to sponsor monies, all of these events are made possible for the public completely FREE!
This is our first huge event of the year and we are striving to make it more successful than any prior Winterfest. Food items will be available for purchase. Monies raised from the Winterfest help the Chamber of Commerce fund community projects all year. Plan now to attend! If you have any questions or ideas, please call Edie Roggie at the Chamber at 493-3590. Hope to see you at Winterfest 2010!
